Gift : Zonourge - Yuletide Mishaps

A pair of crystal blue eyes scanned the room as he opened the bedroom door. On the bed they saw was his lover, peacefully asleep among the mess of pillows and blankets. Smirking, he slowly sneaked his way towards his victim and shook him lightly.

"Zonic~ Wake up! It's Christmaaas~" He said in a sing-song voice. But the other just groaned and shifted his position, placing his right arm over his eyes to cover the light. Scourge rolled his eyes and tried again

"Zoniiiiiic~" still nothing. He sighed and took a deep breath.

"WAKE UP ASSHOLE!!!" he kicked the sleeping cop off the bed. At least that woke him up. Zonic groaned and gave a good glare to Scourge

"What.The.Fuck.Scourge. You didn't have to kick me out of the bed!" he complained
    "hmph! I tried to do it the nice way, but you wouldn't wake up. So I thought that I should kick you out of the bed." Scourge placed his hands on his hips and turned his back against Zonic. The cop wiped his face with his hands and asked his green menace

"What time is it anyway?" he asked sleepily.
    "around 8, why?" Zonic groaned
    "it's still early! You know how tired I am! I barely get time to rest!"
    "well, that's your fault for always taking up overtime!"

Zonic got up from the floor, and they both proceeded to the kitchen "So, what are we having for breakfast? Reheated pizza again? Or some left over Chinese?" Scourge turned to face him, and smiled sheepishly, his hands behind his back

"actually, I wanted to try and cook something for breakfast today."
    "what?"
    "y-yeah...but don't expect too much! it's my first time doing something like this"

Zonic saw the plates of decently looking bacon and eggs and rice placed on the table along with some orange juice. He took his seat and took a bite out of Scourge's dish. It actually tasted nice! The emerald colored male waited with anticipation for his opinion

"this.. this actually tastes really nice"
    "Really??" Scourge asked excitedly, his tail wagging "that's great! I was worried you wouldn't like it- I-I mean.. OF COURSE it would taste nice! It was made by me! Scourge the king!"

The cop took another bite and smiled at his lover. It was nice to see him getting excited over something trivial, since he is such an asshole most of the time. Then his emerald eyes veered towards his uke's hands and saw the tiny bandages all over it. He got himself hurt? He stood up from his seat and walked towards Scourge, taking his hand in the process

"H-Hey! Let my hand go!"
    "No"
    "Let goooo!!"

The blue hedgehog stared blankly into his green counterpart's crystal pairs, removed all the bandages then slowly kissed each cut and burn on his lover's palm. Scourge on the other hand couldn't do anything and just let his seme kiss his hand, blushing at the show of affection. When Zonic was done, they locked gaze with each other before Scourge looked away, holding onto his own hand

"You didn't have to do that..."
    "Well, you got burns and cuts just to make me a decent breakfast"
    "Well we can't live on reheated leftovers forever! It's unhealthy! And plus, it's Christmas so yeah. I wanted to do something special for once..." he pouted then crossed his arms across his scarred chest. Zonic smiled then embraced him from behind

"I gotta say, best breakfast I have had, ever" He kissed his cheek and Scourge looked away embarrassed, and both continued their breakfast. Finished, Zonic proceeded upstairs to change into his uniform, with Scourge following behind after washing the plates. The cop began buttoning his shirt, when the toxic green mobian stopped him, then proceeded to buttoning the shirt himself. Zonic didn't stop him though.. he was just a bit surprised at the sudden affection that Scourge was displaying.

The cop took his lovers hands "Is there a reason why you are doing all this for me?" he asked sternly. Scourge yanked his hands off of the cop and glared at him, obviously pissed

"What? is it a crime that I want to do these things?" He replied almost defensively. Zonic shook his head; why was Scourge acting like this? he thought. Perhaps something happened?

Before Zonic could open his mouth to speak, Scourge let out a sigh and continued to talk " I just... I've never celebrated Christmas with someone before, so I wanted to make sure things are perfect" he admitted.. Zonic was speechless; who knew? The cop knew that Scourge wasn't really in terms with his father, but he didn't know he hated him to the point of not celebrating holidays together. All his green menace wanted was a special Christmas

Now the cop felt somewhat bad, at least he had his co-officers to celebrate Christmas with before, he couldn't imagine what it must feel like to be alone during the Yuletide season.

"Zonic?" Came the emerald mobian's voice, and began to trace circles on his seme's chest "You will be home tonight right?"

The azure male smiled at his emerald counterpart, and gave him a pat on his head "I promise. 8:00, no sooner than that" He saw the other's crystal blue eyes sparkle with happiness

Scourge couldn't contain his emotions in and hugged Zonic tightly "Yay! I can't wait for later- I mean... Yeah you'd better be home at eight! Otherwise i'd stuff you in a turkey. You know how I feel about broken promises"
    "I know... Well, see you later babe, I gotta go now before the boss realizes I'm late" With that he kissed Scourge on the lips and left him alone to prepare for the festivities later on..

The evening was slowly creeping its way in as the sidewalks were slowly being lit one by one by the street lamps, with the snow falling steadily from the sky, dimming the glow eminating from the lights. In a particular house, however, a young, green hedgehog was anxiously waiting for a certain someone to come through the door, be mesmerized by the decors, have their dinner and perhaps do somethig later.

It was already 7:15 and Scourge was feeling both excitement and nervousness; for the entire day, Scourge made preparations for Christmas Eve. He even cook their dinner all by himself; well, maybe with a little help. The emerald-colored hedgehog called some people he knew would HELP him, and thank Chaos he resolved his quarrels with Sonic and his friends; they were very kind and eager to help him prepare for tonight despite the fact they were busy themselves.

Sitting on their couch, the scarred male was watching television, now that he was alone. He decided to take a small break from all the preparations as he imagined the scenery that could happen as soon as his sexy cop returns home.

Whatever he was imagining soon came to an end as the sound of the oven brought Scourge's senses back to the real world.

'ah, the turkey is done! I hope Zonic finds everything perfect' he thought as a smile crept its way to his face

The green hedgehog made his way to the kitchen and took the turkey out, and placed it along the other delicious treats on the table

"everything is set!" he said with such enthusiasm. "Now all I need to do is make myself look and smell good and make this the best Christmas for the both of us"

Meanwhile, in another part of town, said cop was finishing up on his desk when...

"Zonic?" came the unmistakable deep voice of his co-worker Zhadow. Zonic stopped whatever he was doing and faced his friend.

"What is it, Zhadow?" the cop's voice suggested boredom. The latter smirked before continuing his sentence

"It's almost 8, the boys and I were planning on going out to get a drink; you want in?"
    "Hmph. Thanks for the offer, but I actually have plans for tonight."
    "You mean Scourge?" The dark hedgehog shook his head whilst smiling "I still can't believe that one of the best officer in the police force is in as serious relationship with-" A hard glare from his partner was enough for him to change his words from 'a lowly law-breaking bastard' into "someone as difficult as him".

"Yes, he may be a difficult bastard, BUT that doesn't mean that he isn't capable of changing." the cop opened his filing cabinet and placed his reports inside, completely ignoring his co-worker.

"Oh yeah, before anything else, the chief wants to see you before you leave" said Zhadow as he turned to leave. He heard a low groan coming from the azure cop

"what does he want NOW??"

The clock on the wall counted 7:52, and the green hedgehog was becoming more and more excited with each passing second

"He's almost home, I can't wait to see the stupid look on Zonic face when he sees all of this!"

The scarred male made sure that he used the shampoo that his lover likes; the one which smells like vanilla and used an ample amount. Then, dressed himself with a vest that Zonic gave him for their 9th monthsary, his shades, gloves and shoes. He already set up their table, with the stuffed turkey in very middle of everything. Scourge sat down, patiently waiting for his lover to come home, fiery blue eyes shooting occasional glances at their wall clock

The green mobian was becoming restless; what was taking him too long? Aside from looking at their wall clock, he frequently gets up from his seat to check out the window.

Time kept moving, but no sight of the cop.. "Where... is he? He promised...."

"WELL FUCK ALL OF THIS THEN!!!"

In his fury, Scourge flipped the table, tossing their well-prepared Christmas dinner to the ground, and knocked some of their other furniture too, making a mess in their previously well-kept home. The green hedgehog hates broken promises; he's had enough of them from his father, he didn't want to get any of them from Zonic, the cop should know that!

Without a second thought, he rushed outside onto the snow filled city, not bothering to put on an overcoat to protect himself from the cold

It was already 9:20, and a certain officer was swiftly making his way home, his face holding that 'I am in so much trouble' look. It wasn't his fault he was late; had his boss not surprised him like that, he definitely would've been home before 8. The azure cop was feeling slightly guilty because he knows that Scourge doesn't like unfulfilled promises, and he probably deserves to get a good beating from his green menace.

His boss sure knows how to get people; at first he thought he going to be scolded for something he did or didn't do, but instead, he got a promotion. Then he was given a gift for him and Scourge for Christmas. After that, he spent more time than he thought just letting the occasion sink in

Zonic sighed; he hoped that Scourge would be happy for him, and the thought of his love happy made him smile

But his smile was replaced with confusion when he noticed that their front door was open "What the? Scourge?"

A closer inspection and he was horrified; their house was a mess! Things were everywhere; the decors, their furniture were all over the place, either broken or toppled over. Did someone break in the house?!BUT that wasn't' his biggest concern...

"Scourge?? SCOURGE??" frantically the worried cop searched inside the rooms. When he reached the kitchen however, he felt something in his chest breaking after seeing the state of their dinner that he assumed was lovingly prepared by the most important person in his life


who currently was missing...


"was Scourge kidnapped? Did something happen to him? What if.." with no time to waste the cop ran outside of their small home to try to find his lover


oh Scourge... please be alright....

Meawhile, in another part of town, a certain green hedgehog was grumpily making his way through the crowd of people, mumbling under his breath

"Stupid Zonic, breaking his promises, got me so mad.."

He sneezed

"Argh dammit!! That bastard made me so fucking pissed I forgot to put on a coat!" Yelled Scourge, ignoring the stares some passersby's gave him.

"Mistletoes! Mistletoes! Give your lover a mistletoe and share a passionate night!" came the holler of a vendor "You there! Sir! Would you like som-"

"OH FUCK OFF! No one wants to buy your shitty mistletoes!" The emerald color male said as he grumpily made his way to the park

"tch. Rude."

In the park, Scourge sat on one of the snow-covered benches, ignoring the cold biting his skin at the contact. He sighed, and stares at the night sky

"dammit Zonic, why'd you have to do this to me? And on Christmas too..." crystal blue eyes begins to water "today was supposed to be special.. Maybe you don't care?"

Scourge felt something in his chest breaking at the thought "yeah.. maybe you don't care.. Don't care enough to be with me for long.. don't care enough to celebrate the holidays with me.. just like my father, and everyone around me. HA! look at me! Alone again for Christmas.. And I thought this year was going to be any different" His body was shivering but he didn't care, and he was feeling tired; he was never really good at handling emotional shit like this so it was tiring him out quickly. He decided to lie down on the bench, despite his body's protests, and closed his eyes.

"merry christmas to me..."

Running through the snowy street, a certain cop was heading towards town, hoping that someone had seen something suspicious. His jade eyes scanning right and left, silently praying he'd get a glimpse of his green menace, but so far, no luck.

And the fact that many couples were out this special night was making his search ten times more difficult, not to mention making him quite jealous.

He was asking if anyone has seen Scourge; most of them said no, and one person even asked if the toxic green hedgehog was under arrest. He joked about it, but he couldn't hide the fact that deep down he was insulted; he figured that reputations last, and that saddened him because he could see that Scourge is trying his best to change his ways.

The cop checked his watch and sighed; it was already a quarter till ten and still no sign of Scourge. Then, his eyes saw a vendor. Might as well ask right?

"Um, excuse me sir?"
    "oh hello there officer! Is there anything I can help you with?"
    "why yes, actually; have you seen a green hedgehog around here?"
    "I see many species of different colors pass by here all the time, so I can't say I have seen who you are looking for sir"

Zonic's eyes shone in hopelessness; now he will never find Scourge

"I see, well thank you sir, have a happy holiday"

The vendor smiled back "Oh sir, would you like some mistletoe? I'm about to close anyway, so here's one in the house" he said politely as he gave the plant to the cop, which the latter gladly took. "I suggest go look in the park officer, a lot of couples are heading there"

The azure male followed the vendor's advice and went to the park. When he arrived there, he finally saw who he was looking for

But he didn't expect to see him in that state

"SCOURGE!!!"

The green hedgehog was lying on the bench for who knows how long, and the cop immediately ran towards him.

"Scourge! Scourge! Wake up!!" he shook the emerald male, trying to get him conscious. Scourge was cold; as in really cold, and parts of his skin that has been in contact with the snow was starting to become blue. What's more, he doesn't seem to be showing any signs of movement

Zonic took his coat off and gave it to the unconscious mobian, and held him tightly against his body, sharing his warmth.

"What happened to you?" it was barely more than a whisper..

A pair of crystal blue eyes flutter open as their owner was slowly becoming conscious.

"where...am I?" he thought. When his eyes were adjusted to the dim lighting, he found out that he was in the bedroom for some odd reason. He remembered being in the park, so the green hedgehog was extremely confused. Also, his body felt extremely sore. He looked to his right and saw that the blue cop was sitting beside the bed, his head bowed into his arms, and he saw that Zonic was holding onto his hand tightly, beside him was a tub of warm water and alot of heat compress.

Immediately, said cop suddenly woke up, and the emerald male looked into his partner's bloodshot, teary eyes.

Normally, Scourge would've felt bad for the cop, but then he remembered that Zonic broke his promise in the first place and jerked his hand away.

"Look who decided to show up for Christmas" Scourge said so bitterly. Suddenly Scourge found himself in a tight embrace in Zonic's arms. The green hedgehog however was trying pushing the other male away despite his aching body

"Get off of me you promise breaking sonuvabitch!"
    "No"
    "Get off! Do you think you hugging me will get you anywhere you selfish prick?! I have been waiting for more than an hour for you and left when I realized that I won't put up with any of your bull! And you think you can just smother your way into forgiveness???"

Zonic got off of him alright, but not because Scourge asked; The cop punched the ex-con by the side of his cheek and yelled, completely infuriated

"Do you know HOW WORRIED I WAS??"he raised his voice "I had to search everywhere for you! What if something did happen??"
    "Well YOU should NOT have BROKEN your GODDAMN PROMISE!!'
    "I DIDN'T WANT TO BREAK IT! DO YOU THINK I WOULD DELIBERATELY BREAK YOU HEART ON CHRISTMAS OR ON ANY OTHER DAY?? AND YOU CALL ME SELFISH!"

Zonic's anger died down, and he soon he was shaking, sobbing.

"I would never do anything to hurt you... I was so scared... I was so scared that I might lose you." He said in between sobs, his fists closing. "when I saw that the house was a mess and- and when I couldn't find you I- I thought..."

He couldn't help it, the cop laid his head on his partner's lap and held him tightly just as a frightened child would with their parents

Scourge stayed quiet, and comforted the sobbing male on his lap. He never thought about it that way; he was just so excited to finally celebrate Christmas with someone that he only focused on how he felt. Thinking about it, what he did was over-the-top and blatantly selfish, but then again, who can blame him?

He caressed the back of Zonic's head in an attempt to comfort and calm him down, which was working since the latter was slowly ceasing his sobbing.

"Please stop crying Zonic; I'm not used to seeing you like this. Aren't you supposed to be the strong one between us?" The emerald male told the cop as he lifted Zonic's chin. They looked at each other's eyes logingly before they closed the gap between them for a passionate kiss, forgetting all about their heated argument earlier.

Zonic broke the kiss "Y'know what love?" he started

"what?"
    "I got promoted"

Scourge was speechless; he was happy that his partner got promoted, Zonic definitely deserved it. In the midst of excitement he hugged the cop tightly

"Dude, that's awesome! I'm happy for you!" Scourge exclaimed. Zonic smiled as he saw just how happy he was making his green menace.

"Is that why you were late for dinner? The dinner I oh-so lovingly prepared?" Scourge told Zonic in a teasing manner, and the blue male smiled

"Yes, but it doesn't matter now, I am just happy that you're safe and here with me for Christmas" The cop got up and slowly crawled over to the green teen, trapping him on the bed. Then he began drawing circles on Scourge's scarred chest, much to the latter's embarrassment

"You know babe, my boss gave me a present to celebrate Christmas with you" Zonic smirked seducively as he reached behind his pocket.
    "W-what is it?"

The crystal blue pairs that belonged to the emerald male it up "A mistletoe? Really?"
    "No, that's not it, I got this for free; my boss's gift comes after, if you know what I mean" the cop leaned down to kiss his partner's neck

"You smell nice babe"
    "Shut up and kiss me, I think I deserve it"

Emerald met aqua, and both held a strong passion in them "Merry Christmas Scourge"

The messy dinner continued to lay on the floor as the bedroom was filled with quiet moans and sighs of the lovely couple till the sun peeked over the horizon
